Paying online, step by step

  1. Open the official portalGo to member.carepayment.com. New members register first; returning members sign in.
  2. Sign in or choose QuickPayUse QuickPay for a one-time payment if you don't want to create a login.
  3. Choose a payment methodChecking or savings account, debit card or credit card are accepted in the portal.
  4. Turn on autopay (optional)Schedule automatic monthly payments so your account stays current.
  5. Save your confirmationKeep the confirmation until the payment shows on your statement.

Registering vs. signing in

CarePayment lists a separate registration address (member2.carepayment.com) for new members and the main portal (member.carepayment.com) for returning members. If you only have a paper statement, keep it handy: you will need the account details printed on it to register. A password reset is available on the sign-in page, and the portal also lets you authorize a third party, such as a family member, to help manage the account (For Patients).

Autopay and staying current

Autopay from a checking account is the simplest way to avoid missed payments. In the portal you can also schedule recurring card payments. If you stop paying, CarePayment closes the account by letter and returns the balance to your provider (Provider FAQs), so it pays to keep autopay on even though CarePayment does not report late payments to credit bureaus.

Can't sign in?

  • Use the password reset link on the official sign-in page.
  • Call Customer Care at 866-625-8532 during business hours.
  • Questions about the charges themselves go to your provider first; CarePayment says to check the back of your statement for your billing-error rights.

Official CarePayment web addresses

Phishing pages copy payment portals. These are the addresses CarePayment itself uses, so anything else should make you stop:

AddressWhat it's for
member.carepayment.comMember portal and QuickPay
member2.carepayment.comNew member registration
carepaymentlogin.b2clogin.comSecure sign-in screen the portal sends you to
learn.carepayment.com/<provider>Provider-specific program pages and enrollment forms
www.carepayment.comCompany site and FAQs

Always type the address yourself or use the link printed on your statement.

What you need to register

  • Your CarePayment account number from the statement or Welcome Kit
  • The personal details on file with your provider (name, date of birth, address)
  • An email address for your login and paperless notices

If you already use the portal, the same login works in the CarePayment app; registering in the app also gives you portal access (CarePayment app page).

Paying for a parent, partner or child

CarePayment's portal lets account holders authorize a third party to help manage the account (For Patients). Set this up before calling on someone's behalf: Customer Care can only serve account holders or people with an account offer (Contact page). Anyone can still make a one-time payment through QuickPay with the account details.

Paperless statements and alerts

In the portal or app you can manage communication preferences and switch to paperless statements. The app also shows your digital membership card and payment due dates (App Store listing).

Late payments and fees

CarePayment says that with on-time payments there is no additional cost to you beyond your medical bill (What is CarePayment?). Your CarePayment Agreement explains what applies if a payment is late. UP Health System describes its program as having no late fees or collections referrals (UP Health System), but terms can differ by provider, so check yours.

Setting up autopay

  1. Sign in at member.carepayment.com or in the app.
  2. Open payment settings and choose automatic monthly payments.
  3. Add a checking or savings account, or a debit or credit card.
  4. Confirm the amount and start date, then save the confirmation.
  5. Check your next statement to make sure the payment posted.

Agents can also set up card payments by phone during business hours (CarePayment).

Text to Pay

CarePayment lists Text to Pay among its payment options (Patient FAQs). If you'd like to pay by text, ask Customer Care to enroll you, and only respond to texts you've signed up for.

Paying by mail

Make checks or money orders payable to CarePayment, write your account number on the memo line and mail to CarePayment, P.O. Box 2398, Omaha, NE 68103. Mail early: allow for postal time before your due date, and never send cash.
